Sync Folders App Reviews

Must need Sync direction. Not only bidirectional clone. A>B B>A A<+>B etc

It backs up one item at a time. I really dont wanna pay for this app the way it works (it is pretty slow and it removed a bunch of folders that I had backed up with rsync I guess because it wasnt in the file list) just to be able to sync more than one folder at a time so I guess Ill go back ti rsync the terminal way it is the only way that works right on Mac. There is Time machine to backup the entire computer and rsync to back up individual things. Unfortunately that is the best Mac can do.

This program has a lot of options for how you want your folders/drives to be synced which is good, but seems to go slower than doing it manually in Finder. Im using it to backup one usb external hardrive to another

This app did everything I hoped it would do. I needed to transfer a 5TB iTunes library from a Raid of external HD’s to a NAS (WD Ex4). Before using this app, I was receiving alot of errors and nothing would transfer. This app fixed all of that. It copies each file 1 at a time. This would have taken me months to do. This app was able to do that with ease. App is awesome and did excatly what I was looking for. I had no reason to use the sync function but if you are trying to transfer a large amount of data to another location, USE THIS APP. If you are moving over to a NAS it can take a while to move 5TB depending on what type of NAS you have. The EX4 took about 2 days, the Synology took 19 hours. So keep that in mind when you are moving it over.

Doesnt quite behave like a regular application, in terms of the OS interface. When you run the program, the icon doesnt appear in the Dock, nor does any menu controls appear in the menu bar. Seemed to tie up my CPU initially when I was checking the various options in the interface. When I tried to Force Quit, the app doesn’t appear in the Force Quit dialog. Had to run Activity Monitor to determine determine if the process was running or not.

I used for syncing two folders holding MP3’s, it did the job!. Its relatively slow though, performance could be improved.

I downloaded this for the autosync feature. It doesn’t work. And the app quits on startup, so you have to restart the app every time you turn your computer off.

What happened? I did last update and it does not work anymore. What a pitty. I was considering to buy it.

I am a computer science major…this app DOES NOT WORK AS PROMISED. STAY AWAY. Now I have to do all of my hw again.

If you go into the settings and choose to hide the main window at startup, it’s gone for good. There is no way to get that window back unless you reinstall. I do not recommend this app.
